Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the proper alignment of the teeth and the reorganization of the relations between the jaws. In the past, orthodontic treatment was applied only to young individuals. Today, with the development of the materials used, orthodontic treatment is possible at any age.
Orthodontic treatment is not just for aesthetic purposes. If the disorders of upper and lower jaw relations and crooked teeth are not treated, they can cause problems such as gum disease, tooth decay and joint disorders.
Depending on the condition of the irregularity, your dentist offers you various orthodontic treatment options. The most well-known of these is orthodontic braces treatment. It is the movement of the teeth by means of metal or tooth-colored brackets attached to the teeth. In appropriate cases, brackets can also be applied to the tongue side for patients with aesthetic concerns. In cases where the irregularity is not excessive, removable appliance treatment can be performed. However, the regular use of the removable appliance by the patient is important for the success of the treatment. Thanks to the developing technology and digital transformation in dentistry, patient comfort has been increased with orthodontic treatment called clear aligners. In the clear alignment treatment, the impressions taken from the patient are transferred to the digital environment and the orthodontic treatment is planned completely digitally. More than one aligner is delivered to the patient, which he/she will use for certain periods until the end of the treatment. If the aligners are used regularly, the treatment will be faster and the process will be much more comfortable than the braces.
